2009-06-10 15:46:59 The Bill hempstead Memorial is shaping up to be one of the most hotly contested events for F500 at Tamworth's Oakburn Park. $1000.00 to win is sure dragging everyone out. A full list of entries will be out soon.
2009-05-08 14:34:18 This season has been one of many Lows and not to many Highs. The Tri-Steel Pointscore was a disaster from Night 1 in Grafton, Lismore was a bit better and Gunnedah was a great hit (they make strong concrete out there) The only Highlight came at Dubbo after surviving a very Strange Night to take out the Feature. The NSW Titles are best forgotten, no matter what we did to get the Motor right, it didn't want to play at all. Then at Tamworth the motor responded to the Carb changes, then the clutch decided it needed some rest, a quick change and all I had to do was put up with stacks of wheel spin. So were nearly ready for The Bill Hempstead Memorial at Tamworth on 27th June.
2009-02-25 10:34:50 XXXX GOLD have renewed their involvment with our team for another 12 months.
2009-02-25 10:30:40 After putting our spare car into the wall at Gunnedah things are progressing with the major freshen up of the old #50 Rotax. We have found a few minor problems that put together make for a big problem. My brother Greg has been busy setting up some new barrels and going over the carbs. Hopefully we might be able to put all of this seasons rubbish behind us.
Moroya Tri-Steel Series Washout,11 hours to get there only to be washed out before our First Heat. See News page for a small report

2008-11-18 11:47:18 Gilgandra Rd 2 Tri-Steel pointscore. My poor old motor would not clear its throat properly at the starts but I was happy to put up with it as it finally got going after lap 1 in each Heat but low and behold the right cylinder decided it was to lean and flamed out. Talk about a major disapointment, two rounds and two bad results, it can only get better from here(I've heard that before). Tamworth Club show this Sat Night 22nd.
2008-10-27 14:06:19 Dubbo Meeting has been postponed to a date to be advised.(Now December 6TH)
2008-10-13 08:38:58 Grafton 4th Oct. It was a case of anything that could go wrong did go wrong. Ht1 I ran out of tear offs, muddy track and drivers that won't grid up promptly, Ht2 Same problem but all tear-offs came off in one go, so I just circulated to get some points. Ht3 The clutch began to slip so I watched from the infield. Stars Dash 1 I came out as a reserve and came second to Micheal Baxter and broke my clutch cable, the final of the Dash was fun,no clutch and coming together with Keith Levy at the start, both spinning, at the restart I managed to get past Brenden Norley to claim second spot. My Feature Final was over before it started, in my hast to repair the clutch cable, I forgot to turn off the fuel and filled the motor with fuel and promptly bent a rod when we tried to start it.What a night, I managed to score only 62 points, my worst points in 3 years. It can only get better from here.
2008-09-14 20:13:47 Most of the dates have been set for the upcoming season. We just can't wait to get under way at Grafton on the Long-weekend (4th Oct), Rd 1 of the Tri-Steel, Deposit Power State Pointscore Series.
2008-07-0209:38:44 Tamworth Day Meeting 28th June. What a great way to finish the Race Season, nearly the middle of winter and we still had 14 cars face the starter. Report on the news page.
2008-05-2609:03:45 Tamworth Day Meeting 24th May. Kenny Norman made the trip worthwhile and the newly purchased Hyper Cars made their debut at Tamworth, report on News Page.
2008-04-28 12:35:45 Tri Steel Series Final round at Nowra. Kenny Norman managed to win the Final Feature Race for the series, but Michael Baxter had scored enough points to win the Series from Barry Burrows(2nd) and Keith Levy (3rd).Full report on News Page.
2008-04-1408:31:09 The first Bill Hempstead Memorial has been run and won. Micheal Baxter (RG) won the nights Feature Final and scored enough points to secure the Memorial Trophy and the $1000.00. Full report in News Page.
2008-03-13 08:54:22 Bill Hempstead Memorial Meeting.Round 6 of the Tri-Steel State Pointscore to be held at Tamworth's Oakburn Park on April 12th will now carry an extra incentive. The highest pointscorer on the night will walk away with an extra $1000.00 plus the Bill Hempstead Memorial Trophy and their name added to the Perpetual Trophy that will be held at the HBS offices in Tamworth. The Tamworth Speedway Club has moved the start time foward to 4.00pm as there are 9 divisions racing that day.
2008-03-06 09:32:46 Rd 6 Tri-Steel Series Tamworth. Please note this meeting will start at the earlier time of 4.00 as there will be 10 divisions raceing on that night.
2008-03-03 08:46:12 Rd 5 Tri-Steel Series Goulburn. Goulburn put on great weather and a great track for our delayed round. After such a long drive it makes it hard to concentrate properly,so its easy to make simple driving errors, letting everybody go by is not good for you points tally. Report in NEWS PAGE.
2008-02-25 08:47:33 Rd4 Tri-Steel Series Lismore. The Lismore track looked reasonably sedate during heat 1, but later the ruts began to open up and showed both mine and Luca's inexperience on such a track. All we could do was carry on and keep our cars in one piece and watch how its done be the fast drivers.Full report in NEWS PAGE
Gatton 16 Feb After first being refused entry to the pit area because of mistaken identity with some other NSW race team that wont read a rule book, we had a great night of F500 racing. The newly purchased 600 ran very well all night and Luca enjoyed his first hitout on the long Gatton layout. A rain storm after heat 2 made heat 3 a bit of a mud derby but we all had fun. Many thanks to Richard and Maria McAteer for making the trip worthwhile.
A Busy few weeks. This weekend (16th) our Team travels to Queenslands Gatton Raceway for a Club Show, then it's off to Lismore (23rd) for a round of the Tri-Steel Pointscore (Shakedown for the Aussie Titles at Easter), then were off to Goulburn (1st) for the postponed round of the Tri-Steel Series.

Tri-Steel Series All over for 2007,a brief report in the News page.
What is Formula 500 ?
Formula 500 began in Australia in the 1930's, and were known then as TQ's. These days, they are one of the fastest speedway cars on the track with a power to weight ratio of approximately 275kw/tonne compared to a five litre V8 Commodore at 114kw/tonne.
Powered by a 500cc engine fueled by methanol, the specifications have changed little over the years except for the addition of a roll cage and wings. These cars are often owner constructed but some drivers prefer to purchase a professionally constructed car with their choice of engine.
2 or 4 stoke engines can be rear, side, or front mounted, and can be of either production {Jawa, Rotax, Suzuki, Honda etc.} or Home construction. A recent innovation widens the choice of engines to include 600cc. four stroke four cylinder engines.
